WP5165 - Army Deployment Plaques, Afghanistan, Engraved Natural Cedar
These three US Army Deployment plaques for soldiers deployed to Afghanistan are carved in engraved relief. They are carved from Western Red Cedar. After carving, they are hand sanded and stained one or more times to get the specified color, which can range from light to very dark, depending upon which of the 24 Minwax color stains is used, or they can keep their natural wood color (no stain), as for these plaques. After artist-painting the art and text with 1-Shot sign enamels, the plaques are clear-coated twice with Matthews clear polyurethane acrylic .
