Very Large Plaques (8 ft to 16 ft in diameter)
We make very large wall plaques, up to 16 ft in diameter. We make elliptical or rectangular plaques up to 20 ft wide. Because these are shipped across the country in a large box or flat bed truck, single piece round wall plaques are limited to about 10 ft in diameter and rectangular plaques about 10 ft in width uo to 20 ft long. and rWall plaques larger than this must be shipped in 2 pieces and assembled on site, usually directly on the wall. These large wall plaques almost always have internal steel rectangular hollow tubes (typically 1" or 1.5" wide) embedded in the HDU to hold the pieces together so that no seam shows. Threaded studs that are inserted in holes drilled in the wall are usually welded to this frame so that these plaques, which weigh several hundred to several thousand pounds, can be properly supported. Although most of signs are made from High Density Urethane (HDU), it is not light, weighing 20 lb/ft3, slightly lighter than Cedar wood.
This plaques are painted by our artists with 1-Shot and Matthews sign enamels, or they can be plated with bronze, brass or aluminum metals, and then clear-coated twice with clear polyurethane acrylic . They can also be gilded with 24K gold leaf or pure silver leaf and then clear-coated.
