This 10 ft diameter gold-leaf gilded plaque of the Seal of a US District Court is carved in 3-D bas-relief. It and an identical plaque are mounted 60 ft high on the front facade of the Middle District Courthouse in Memphis, Tennessee. This plaque is made of 3 inch thick High-Density-Urethane installed in a 0.5 inch thick aluminum back structure for additional strength. This plaque is gilded with 24K gold leaf, and then clear-coated twice with clear polyurethane acrylic .
