Chain-of-Command Board for the US Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River
This Chain-of-Command Board for the US Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River is carved from California Redwood. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained to get the required color. The officer and crew names are engraved on brass plates which slide into the brass holders shown in the photo, so they can easily be changed out. The two insignia, are carved in 3-D bas-relief from High-Density-Urethane (HDU) and mounted on the board. This plaque is clear-coated twice to protect against the marine environment.
