Chain-of-Command and Award photo board for the USS Tripoli (LH7) S-5 Hotel Service
This large Chain-of-Command and Award photo board for the USS Tripoli (LH7) S-5 Hotel Service, US Navy, is carved from High-Density-Urethane (HDU). After carving, it is hand sanded and painted with an airbrush and long-lasting sign enamels in a simulated wood grain pattern. The officers and sailors have photos inserted into slide-in wood picture frames with acrylic covers, which can easily be changed-out. The positions and award titles are carved and raised above the background.. The title at the top of the board is also carved in raised relief . The ship crest on the upper left and navy emblem on the upper right are carved in 2.5-D raised relief and artist-brush painted using long-lasting sign enamels. This plaque is clear-coated twice, and can be place outside or inside. Plaques of this type are all custom designed and made with sizes ranging from 36 inches to 96 inches wide, depending on the number and sizes of photos, nameplates, and crests.
