This Chain-of-Command Board for the US Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) Winslow Grieser is carved from California Redwood. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained to get the required color. The officer and crew names are engraved on brass plates which slide into the brass holders shown in the photo, so they can easily be changed. The red and green colors indicate whether the crewman is on duty. The ship's crest is carved in 2.5-D HDU, with the center artwork digitally printed on a long-lasting giclee vinyl applique.
