This Photo Award Board for the Utah SSN-801 Submarine is carved from High Density Polyurethane. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained to get the required color. The awardees have photos inserted into slide-in wood picture frames with glass covers, which can easily be changed-out. The insignia, text and the ship's crest are carved in 3-D bas-relief and painted with an airbrush and paint brush using long-lasting sign enamels. This plaque is clear-coated twice to protect against the marine environment.
