This message board plaque for the Commanding Officer, HSM 35 Magicians (Helicopter Marine Strike Squadron) , US Navy, is carved from Western Red Cedar. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained dark to get the required color. Messages or names can be inserted in the black slide-in tracks. so they can easily be changed out. The Navy aviator badge in top center is carved in 3-D bas-relief from High-Density-Urethane (HDU), painted with long-lasting metallic brass sign enamels, and mounted on the plaque. The two unit crests in the top corners are digitally printed on long-lasting giclee vinyl appliques mounted on pedestals. . This plaque is clear-coated twice to protect against the marine environment. This plaque is also shown in the US Navy plaque photo gallery.
