Chain-of-Command Photo Board for the Destroyer USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000)
This large Chain-of-Command photo board for the destroyer USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000) is shown mounted on its easel. This board can be mounted on a wall or on the display easel inside the ship or next to a gangway on land. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained to get the required color. The officers have photos inserted into slide-in wood picture frames with glass covers, which can easily be changed-out. The officer and crew names will be engraved on brass plates which will be mounted on the raised wood pedestals under each photo frame. The ship's crest is carved in 2.5-D, with the center artwork digitally printed on a long-lasting giclee vinyl applique. This plaque is clear-coated twice to protect against the marine environment.
