Chain-of-Command Photo Board for the Destroyer USS Zumwalt
This large Chain-of-Command photo board for the destroyer USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000) is carved from California Redwood. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained to get the required color. The officers have photos inserted into slide-in wood picture frames with glass covers, which can easily be changed-out. The officer and crew names will be engraved on brass plates which will be mounted on the raised wood pedestals under each photo frame. The ship's crest is carved in 2.5-D, with the center artwork digitally printed on a long-lasting giclee vinyl applique. This plaque is clear-coated twice to protect against the marine environment.Other plaques are shown in the US Navy plaque photo gallery.
