Chain-of-Command Photo Board for the US Navy Ship USS St. George
This Chain-of-Command Photo Board for the US Navy ship USS St. George is carved from Western Red Cedar. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained to get the required color. The officers have photos inserted into slide-in wood picture frames with gl;ass covers, which can easily be changed-out. The borders and text are carved in 2.5-D raised relief, and artist-brush painted with long-lasting sign enamels. The ships crest is carved in 2.5-D, with the center artwork digitally printed on a long-lasting giclee vinyl applique. This plaque is clear-coated twice to protect against the marine environment.
