This engraved plaque listing Previous Commanders of the Hyman Rickover SSN 709 and SSN 795 submarines is carved from Mahogany wood. After carving, it is hand sanded and stained to get the required color. Previous commanders of both of these submarines have their names engraved on brass plates. The SSN's crests are engraved and artist-brush painted using long-lasting sign enamels. This plaque is clear-coated twice to protect against the marine environment.
